It never ceases to amaze me how a community that cares about openness has such a severe lack of standards that basic freedom like being able to download and run a program is so impossible for normal (and often even advanced) users. Improvements to the emulator apply to all games that use the updated functionality, as our goal is to create the most accurate PlayStation 3 emulator possible and therefore we do not include game specific hacks. I would love to find a simple download of libgtk1.2, but most everything I found was stupid packages instead of just giving the library file, instead of like in Windows where you can download DLL libraries easily from numerous websites. We don't work on developing a game X or Y emulator, we work on developing a PlayStation 3 emulator. If ePSXe works well, it would have been really great if they included the libraries with it and/or used a universal Linux installer for it like Zero Install so it wouldn't be made of failure when users of newer distros tried to run it. I have tried every BIOS (I have like 10 of them) as well as the emulated included BIOS with no luck. I can't believe in 2012 there's no good PS1 emulator for Linux still. It comes with a QT-based GUI version and a no-GUI version. You can set up everything in settings, including the location of your BIOS. The next you open the emulator, it will detect bios and bot up games. Inside the emulatorâs folder, you will find a folder named BIOS. DuckStation is a PSX emulator and a brilliant one at that. Next, open documents and click DuckStation. Navigate to the directory where you keep your PS1 games, then select . Emulation has come a long way since then there have been many advancements, improvements and of course new emulators.Try some of the nightly builds.The nightly build had an error and wouldn't even generate the configure script correctly. Head back to Main Menu and select Import Content -> Scan Directory. PCSX-R is probably the only actively developed emulator left. PSX hasn't been updated for a while, but might work. ![]()
